Ken, who works out of Sydney, is a
metallurgist who has supplemented his
education with an MBA specialising in Human
Resources in recent years. He has 25 years
of experience in manufacturing in the steel
industry, predominantly as an operator and
manager of Blast Furnaces in the steel
industry. Ken was trained and coached by
Dupont consultants in the last 3 years in
this role. During this period Ken planned
and executed the decommissioning of the
Blast Furnace he was managing.
Ken also has 5 years of experience managing
Occupational Health and Safety in the steel
industry. During this time Ken worked with
OHS professionals and Dupont Consultants
developing the Safety Management System for
the site, as well as dealing with
implementation issues in the Primary
Operations and Engineering Business units.
The last project was helping the Maintenance
Department make a safe transition to an
outsourced maintenance provider.
As a training facilitator and consultant
with Dupont Safety Resources Ken has
assisted companies in the airline,
electrical distribution and aluminium
refining industries, predominantly in
behavioural safety.
He has developed extensive knowledge /
experience in the following areas:
- Culture change in a heavy manufacturing
environment.
- Helping individuals, work and management
teams to achieve their business goals using
Kepner Tregoe and other techniques.
- Behavioural Safety, training programs and
consulting.
- Behavioural Safety program customisation
and Train the Trainer programs.
- Investigation of incidents and accidents
- Incident investigation training using ICAM
- Heavy Industry hazard knowledge.
